What are these “real jobs” you speak of? At the absolutely very least, teachers typically also have off for many federal holidays, are you saying that isn’t a “real job”?

They are saying it is more general than money or information, that those are power but those specifically are not special. If we had a society without money, something else would occupy the same purpose of the psychological need of humans “to get more” to be on top.
They aren’t saying “money isn’t important to that”, they are saying “money isn’t important to that”.
As someone else that doesn’t go to a gym, it is a combination of: they enjoy working out or do so for another reason, they don’t have the space for gym equipment at home, they can’t afford to buy and maintain the gym equipment they want to use, the gym they attend offers classes or personal training guidance, they enjoy the atmosphere and encouragement of working out with other like-minded individuals.
It isn’t something magical, it may just not be for you.
Vital to get into the habit of only putting clutter in that spot, though. Having a physical inbox is useless if you still put junk everywhere else (unless you are really good at scanning the rest of the areas to declutter to the inbox).
It’s probably too much for a Raspberry Pi, but it runs perfectly fine on Linux
Which was the center, and which was the side? Like, I’m assuming most/a large portion of people with 2 monitors have one straight on and the secondary monitor offset, but is the secondary monitor offset to the left, or offset to the right?
Windows 8 to Windows 10, and Windows 10 to Windows 11 didn’t have the exact same workflows either. That’s a big part of the reason many people that had compatible hardware didn’t upgrade to 11 when given the chance. I think we need to stop trying to cater to expectations of things working exactly the same and instead educate on “things are going to change, but you can be in control of how they change”.
I don’t know if you’re trying to make it sound bad, but calling milk “titty juice” makes it sound better. I don’t like milk, but titty juice makes it sound refreshing.
Damn, hope you graduate to Third Grade by 40!
Sure, but the $ is signifying the following numbers refer to money. And people can write it differently than they say it. I will say “June 1st” much, much more often than “the 1st of June”, but I will also almost always write it “01 June <YEAR>”.
But the reason it is much more common in the USA to write dates as “June 1, <YEAR>” is because that is how it is often spoken here. That doesn’t need to be consistent across other speech and writing patterns, it’s just how it developed. Probably goes back to the printing press like a lot of the other oddities in writing here…
You don’t know that the kid hasn’t already told the mom about the accident. It’s not like she can come pick the kid up, it was her car that was crashed. Relying on a parent and asking them for help in a time of need doesn’t mean the kid isn’t also going to take responsibility. But the parent saying that fishing is more important is absolutely ludicrous. Sure, maybe the dad is too far away to be able to help at the moment, but he said he’s too busy to even talk (yet not busy enough to prevent sending those texts).
I say this as an American, but these are Americans confused by the concept of fractions. Using grams would likely terrify them more.
Until you start selling a 1/3 lb burger to outcompete the 1/4 lb burger, but people are “4 is more than 3!” so your marketing fails…
I fully understand the issues with the logistics. I get that the delivery people are often held to unreasonable standards and forced to insane expectations of quotas.
But, when there are 3 cars in the driveway, the lights are on in the house, and it’s the middle of the afternoon, it is absolutely the delivery person’s responsibility if they don’t even knock. They don’t even need to stick around more than 5 seconds, at least actually make the attempt.
I had switched over to Linux last year for the same concern of Win 10 reaching end of support. I wanted to switch over while I still had time to switch back (even if temporarily) of something went wrong.
I’d highly suggest start dual-booting or load Linux on an older system to get used to using it as a daily driver now rather than waiting until you don’t have the same choice.
I wish my delivery person used the doorbell or knocked. I’ve watched out the window as they walked up, put the “no one home” sticker on the door, and started walking away before I stepped out and told them I was there for the package.
It’s because high end Intel chips have been eating themselves, not because x3d chips are better for gaming…
Honestly, this is 100% the solution for this problem, especially for sharing with a child.
Now, the issue of having a “license” and rights to play a game, vs actually owning the game is still a valid point of contention.
The microwave, because my roommates insist on having a model that beeps every 30 seconds after it finishes cooking so you don’t forget you had food in there. They still forget, though. It just gets on my nerves while I try to wash some dishes while waiting for the microwave to finish, or if I’m using it as part of prepping while cooking.
Half-Life, Thief, and the original Sims games (City, Ant, etc) were my original gaming go-tos!
