I like the back to back portraits. Highlights different values in aesthetics. Also Hans Holbein!
Cool, I’ve never looked so closely at Holbein. The detail is staggering.
I did a jigsaw puzzle of this painting a few years back. It was incredibly interesting to examine all those little brushstrokes one tiny square at a time and see how it all came together.
You’ve got me thinking that might be a better way to appreciate well know art fully :)
