Dont come crying when you’re locked out of your accounts. Youtube is clearly coming for you.
The most common reason for this kind of issue is that you’re a jerk and they aren’t fooled by basic shit like a new email address. This is the 2020’s my man, browser fingerprinting is a thing and even with a vpn there’s a good chance they’ll be able to reidentify you quickly.
Consider changing the way you interact with your fellow internet dwellers so that it ceases to be an issue.
This post is a waste of everyone’s time.
I’m just trying to figure out why I get this every time I go to watch a video. 🤷♂️
Why do you need an account to sign in on youtube?
You don’t need an account to watch.
You created a new account so it is not subscriptions.
My guess is comment spam.
Here’s two tips:
A) don’t be a FUCKING ASSHOLE
B) don’t try to do BAN EVASION. Take your lumps like a grown up.a) I wasnt banned, I closed the last account down myself as it was locked up. b) how have I been an “asshole”? Its a whole new account I’ve not even spoken to anyone through it yet.
“I did nothing! I swear”, is the banned user’s refrain. Also, invariably, a load of blocks.
What are you commenting, exactly? Don’t hint at it, post a complete unedited comment they flagged.
What comments?
Its literally a brand new account. They’re not maintaining their site. I havent even got as far as comments.
The comments you made with the old account.
YouTube has mitigations in place to help identify folks who jump between accounts.
It’s probably something horrible, don’t expect a reply.
Baaed on some of the comments I have seen on youtube that were still up…I don’t really want to see it posted here.
So did the old account make no comments?
Get a vpn, turn off cookies, clear your browsers everything, and make a new login.
This ain’t your soap box. Cry about getting caught breaking the rules on Facebook or something.
What rules have I broken? I’ve already outlined the problem. Its a new account, new email, new everything. Why so nasty?
I’m not going to jump on the bandwagon of if you personally should be getting the ban…
…but their ban system would be pretty poor if that was all you needed to evade it. In general ban evasion is a good thing and needed and things like browser, settings and OS fingerprint and IP address and so forth would all need to be factored in.
If I had been abusive in any way I would agree with you. This is the point I am making. Something or someone is flagging me despite the lack of actually commenting.
I’ve no idea what you are talking about
I’ve never had a good experience commenting on YouTube. I’ve never once had an intelligent, thoughtful response to one of my comments. Being blocked from commenting on YouTube is a blessing. That’s why I use Piped.
I’ve had a good experience with YouTube comments but I feel they are pretty pointless as:
-
there is no search function:Ctrl f only takes you so far as it just looks at what is currently present and sometimes even hidden by display more or within replies, it’s very annoying.
-
people spam a lot and comments only load in batches: 10k comments in popular videos saying shit like ‘sir thank you sir, excellent tutorial, I didn’t understand anything but I like using React’.
-
some comments get auto removed: if you want to post a workaround or some piece of code, it gets removed if there’s a link or link-looking structure.
I mostly comment on tech-related tutorials just to post a list of the issues I had and the solutions, from time to time I get pinged with more questions and people are generally grateful and sometimes other people mention better/easier workarounds.
Every single comment I’ve ever seen on that site without exception has been astonishingly mindless. It makes Facebook comments look like a lot of geniuses by comparison, and that’s not even getting into the frequent white nationalist content.
Even the comments I’ve seen on presumably more thoughtful channels like Audible Anarchist are colossally moronic.
But like you said there’s a lot of content on YouTube, so it’s possible that I’ve just had the misfortune of never seeing an insightful comment anywhere on YouTube since 2006.
