I don’t really understand why someone would want to emigrate from Cuba to Russia in the first place, and certainly not die in a war for the privilege.

People are leaving Cuba for Haiti (not many, but some), others for Surinam, Nicaragua and Guyana. The only point is to get out, it almost doesn’t matter the destination

Believe it or not Cuba is worse off than Russia. The American embargo has decimated the island. It is not easy to leave, but they will have a better life literally anywhere they can go. I’m cuban. Trust me. In a strange way, I do hope some poor cuban kid does go to the war, and does kill an American volunteer. And then finally Americans will consider this pointless embargo and it’s ramifications.

Yes. I’m not sure if you know what reading comprehension is, but start with Dr. Seuss books and try figuring out things like “does Sam I Am like green eggs and ham” and “how many red fish, how many blue fish”. Then after you’ve grasped that a little better come on back and have a conversation with the adults. We will be waiting.

Thank you for advocating for the murder of volunteers from my country serving Ukraine and acting like a child when confronted about it. I’m sure me and other users’ opinion of your country has improved significantly and are more open to renegotiating embargoes.

You couldn’t tell me one thing about Cuba without googling it. I’m not exactly worried or even at all interested in what the average under-educated and geogphically illiterate American thinks… about anything. But thanks for… whatever it was you think you did with this response. Wasn’t anywhere near as meaningful as you thought it was when you typed it.

It’s almost not the embargo. It’s the Cuban government behavior. They’re just criminals who manage a state-monopolistic capitalist country.

It has never been real socialism, but now it’s very far from it, with the state only investing (wasting) money for building big hotels where no one go (occupation around 20% in high season across the island) and leaving population in hanger and without any basic public service.

Meanwhile the new little (till 250 employees) private companies import anything from anywhere through corruption, reselling goods at crazy prices that only rich cubans can achieve. No embargo does not exist for them. While society gap is everyday higher.

It was never real socialism agreed, but about 2 years after the embargo is when the country really went to shit. There’s quite a few video documentaries about it, i wont argue with you about weather or not im right because im just telling you facts.

Can’t say embargo doesn’t play a role, but it’s more a cover for bad management.

There’s no embargo with Europe, and plenty of companies may don’t give a shit about exporting to US, while Cuba could have been a big market. But this didn’t happen. Why?

Simply because the state has no money, and waste the ones it has.

This is the best summary I could come up with:

In a statement, the Cuban foreign ministry said that the authorities were working to “neutralise and dismantle” the network, which it said was operating within the Caribbean island nation and in Russia.

Andrey Gurulev, a lawmaker and retired military officer, said on Monday that the defence ministry was aiming to recruit another 140,000 Russian soldiers by the end of the year.

Meanwhile, the Kremlin on Tuesday declined to comment on reports that the North Korean leader, Kim Jong-un, planned to travel to Russia this month to meet Vladimir Putin and discuss supplying Moscow with weapons for Ukraine.

While Peskov did not comment on the reported meeting with Kim, the Kremlin did say Putin was planning to travel to Vladivostok next week to take part in the annual Eastern Economic Forum.

But we also have information that they’re seeking other types of munitions to assist their war in Ukraine,” the White House national security spokesperson, John Kirby, said last week.

Russia’s eagerness to engage with North Korea also suggests Moscow is running low on stocks of some advanced weapons, as the war in Ukraine enters its 559th day.

Russia looking to get advanced weapons from North Korea? Yeah, this war sure is going great for them.
